Proposal
The Department of Education and Training (DET) has determined that 3 and 9 Back Eildon Road, Thornton (the site) is surplus to its operational requirements.
The Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF), on behalf of DET, has requested that the planning provisions for the site be changed to enable the land to be sold. DTF has proposed that the site be rezoned from Public Use Zone – Schedule 2 (Education) to Township Zone. The existing Flood Overlay and Heritage Overlay – Schedule 90 are to be retained.
Minister's decision
Changes to the planning provisions for 3 and 9 Back Eildon Road, Thornton, were gazetted as Thornton Planning Scheme Amendment GC100 on 15 November 2018.
