The Minister for Planning is the responsible authority and the planning authority for the 6 designated Alpine Resorts in Victoria:
- Falls Creek
- Lake Mountain
- Mt Baw Baw
- Mt Buller
- Mt Stirling
- Mt Hotham
We administer the Alpine Resorts planning scheme on behalf of the minister.

Alpine Resorts Victoria
Alpine Resorts Victoria brings a sector wide focus and strategic leadership to the management of Victoria’s 6 alpine resorts:
- Falls Creek
- Lake Mountain
- Mt Baw Baw
- Mt Buller
- Mt Stirling
- Mt Hotham
Alpine Resorts Victoria brings the management of the resorts together into one organisation, and acts as the Crown’s representative for leasing and other land management functions and provides services such as water, sewerage, and other services.

Alpine Resorts Victoria are a referral authority under Section 55 of the Planning and Environment Act 1987. Depending on the type of planning permit application lodged, Alpine Resorts Victoria may also be notified of a planning permit application through Section 66.06 of the Alpine Resorts Planning Scheme and has the opportunity to comment on planning permit applications as the Committee of Management.
