Description of proposal

The proposed planning scheme amendment has been recommended for accelerated assessment and determination by the Development Facilitation Program (DFP). The DFP has been established by the Minister for Planning to speed up the assessment and determination of identified priority projects that deliver investment into the Victorian economy, keep people in jobs and provide a substantial public benefit. The Minister is considering preparing an amendment to the Baw Baw Planning Scheme (draft Amendment C148bawb under section 20(4) of the Planning and Environment Act 1987) to rezone the land from Urban Floodway Zone to the Industrial 1 Zone and introduce Schedule 12 to the Design and Development Overlay. The Minister is also considering a concurrent planning permit PA2302141, which seeks to subdivide the land into twenty-four (24) lots and allow buildings and works for the realignment of a creek and the creation of new accessways. The Minister is considering these matters under Part 4, Division 5 of the Act, which allows for the combined planning scheme amendment and planning permit process. Please note that the DFP’s recommendation for accelerated assessment and determination does not mean that the proposed development has been approved. The Minister has not yet decided whether to prepare, adopt or approve the combined planning scheme amendment and planning permit.
